How to do 2024 BECE computer ‘SHS/SHTS/TVET’ Self-Placement Online

Congratulations on completing your BECE! Now comes the exciting yet crucial step of choosing your senior high school path. If you’re aiming for an SHS, SHTS, or TVET program, self-placement through the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is your gateway.

This blog post will guide you through the online self-placement process for the 2024 academic year.

Before you begin:

Steps to Self-Placement:

  1. Visit the CSSPS Self-Placement Portal: Head to either cssps.org or cssps.gov.gh.
  2. Check Placement (Optional): If curious about the automatic placement based on your BECE aggregate, click on the “Check Placement” module. Enter your e-voucher PIN and Index Number, and the system will display your assigned school (if applicable).
  3. Proceed to Self-Placement: Click on the “Self-Placement” module. Enter your e-voucher PIN and Index Number again, and click “Enter.”
  4. Explore Your Options: The system will display a list of available schools based on your BECE performance. You’ll see options across SHS, SHTS, and TVET categories, categorized by region and program.
  5. Make Your Choices: Carefully review the available schools and programs. Consider factors like location, program offerings, academic reputation, and personal preference. Select your top three choices, prioritizing them in order of preference. You can choose a mix of SHS, SHTS, and TVET options.
  6. Choose Residential Preference: For each selected school, indicate your preference for day or boarding status.
  7. Confirm and Print: Once you’ve finalized your choices, thoroughly review your selections for accuracy. Click “Confirm” to submit your self-placement application. You’ll have the option to print a confirmation slip for your records.

Remember:

  • Deadline is crucial: Be mindful of the official deadline announced by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to submit your self-placement choices. Late submissions will not be considered.
  • Research is key: Before making your selections, research the different schools and programs offered. Consider factors like program strength, facilities, and alumni success stories.
  • Seek guidance: Don’t hesitate to seek advice from your teachers, counselors, or family members when making your school choices.
